Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at support@turningskiessafaris.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Our packages include transportation, park fees, professional guides, meals, and accommodations depending on the collection you choose.

We offer private and group options. Our Land Cruisers comfortably seat 6 guests with window seats for everyone.

Yes. Tanzania is one of Africa’s safest safari destinations. Our team ensures secure, well‑planned travel at every step.

In your safari kit, you should have these main items: binoculars (10x42), high‑SPF sunscreen, an electrical outlet converter (a plug adapter with a voltage converter), and bug spray with DEET.

Wear light‑colored clothes: khaki, white, light gray, and light brown. Cover your skin as much as possible, but ensure the clothing is light and breathable.

Your guide will be waiting for you right at the airport with a sign showing our company logo. They’ll greet you, help with your luggage, and make sure you’re comfortably settled for the drive into Arusha.

Banks and licensed exchange bureaus in town always display the current rate, and they offer the most reliable prices. We recommend avoiding street exchanges or unofficial vendors, as their rates can vary and may not be transparent. For the best value, check the posted rate at a bank or reputable bureau before exchanging your money.

All international travelers require a tourist visa, which can be obtained online or upon arrival. We recommend applying online in advance to speed up your entry process.

While not mandatory, we strongly recommend travel insurance that covers medical care, trip delays, and lost luggage.

Travelers are often advised to have routine vaccines up to date. A Yellow Fever certificate may be required if you’re arriving from a country with risk of transmission. Consult your doctor before traveling.

Tanzania is a malaria zone. We recommend speaking with your healthcare provider about preventive medication and using insect repellent during your trip.

Tanzania offers great wildlife viewing year‑round. June–October is ideal for the Great Migration and dry‑season game viewing, while November–May offers lush landscapes and fewer crowds.

Days are warm and sunny, while mornings and evenings can be cool. Layering is key.

Cameras are welcome. Drones require special permits from Tanzanian authorities and are not allowed in most national parks without prior approval.

Some of our safari vehicles are equipped with charging ports, while others are not. Because availability can vary, we recommend bringing a fully charged power bank to ensure your devices stay powered throughout the day.

Absolutely. Whether you’re vegetarian, vegan, gluten‑free, or have specific allergies, we can prepare a packed safari lunch box that meets your dietary needs. Just let us know in advance so we can plan the right ingredients for your day in the bush.

A deposit confirms your reservation, with the remaining balance due 10 days before your arrival. Our team will guide you through the process.

Our cancellation policy requires guests to cancel at least 10 days before their safari date. Cancellations made after this period are non‑refundable, as arrangements and park fees will already have been secured on your behalf.

Game drives typically last 4–6 hours, depending on wildlife activity and your preferences.

Tanzania offers excellent chances to see all the Big Five animals, though wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed.

Tipping is customary. Many guests tip their guide at the end of the safari based on service quality.

Tanzanians are warm and welcoming. A friendly greeting goes a long way, and modest dress is appreciated in towns and villages.
